 E-Forum 6: Sexuality and Violence

The sixth discussion on ‘Sexuality and Violence’ ran from November 15, 2006 to January 15, 2007. A summary is provided in the links below. Major themes included tracing the connections between sexuality and violence, exploring the various ways in which sexuality and violence affect different communities in diverse ways, the use of media and representation and also how does the state play a role in dealing with certain kinds of sexual violence while excluding and sometimes even perpetrating and perpetuating others. There were particular references made to that of World AIDS Day, World Disability Day and Human Rights Day which coincided with this discussion.
