To join:

• Go to https://www.asiasrc.org/sexuality and fill out the subscription form. You will receive a confirmation notice. Your login name and password will be forwarded to you before the start of the online discussion. You will receive an email for verification of your email address. Then you will be able to receive emails in your inbox or follow the discussion on the website directly.

• As a member of the forum, you may post a message directly from the website after logging in your username and password for the site, which will be given to you at the time of your registration with the discussion forum.

The Structure

The South and Southeast Resource Centre on Sexuality moderates time-bound, structured e-discussion forums on a variety of topics. Each discussion forum will last a total of two months each. In those two months, the topic will be broken into four sub-topics with a set of questions that participants will be asked to respond to and contribute towards. 

For each sub-topic, the moderator will begin the discussion by posting a brief background note and a different set of questions; feel free to respond to any or all. The responses will be sent to subscribers in their email inbox, as well as posted in the ‘Discussion Forum Archives’ section of the website. An overview of all the questions being presented in the forum will be available at https://www.asiasrc.org/forum.php.

Please note that in order to encourage as spontaneous a dialogue as possible, this forum will be minimally moderated. We assume that postings will be courteous and respectful and the moderator will intervene if appropriate. Otherwise, the moderators' role will consist largely of occasional commentary and a summary of findings at the conclusion of the e-forum.

All emails from the list serve will be sent to your email account that you registered with, as well as automatically posted on www.asiasrc.org. You may post messages from your email, or directly from the website (using the login ID and password you received at the time of registration).

The outcome of the online discussion will enrich the analysis for the study, and increase the availability of debates and discussions around issues of sexuality and rights that covers different countries in South and Southeast Asia.
