Companions on a Journey, Wattala
Companions on a Journey was founded by a group of men who identify themselves as gay who strive to provide social, political and emotional support for people with an alternative sexual identity and expressions. The organization conducts HIV /AIDS prevention activities and provide care and support for people living with HIV/AIDS, lobbies for the repeal of laws which criminalise consensual same sex activity between two consenting adults, and works closely with the media to create a positive image of the LGBT community in the country. They have a drop-in centre, a library, peer counseling, HIV test counseling, and organize film screenings as support services.
