Arpita Das
Program Associate

Arpita Das has a Masters in Social Work (MSW) from the Department of Family and Child Welfare, Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, 2002. She has worked with the Special Cell for Women and Children, a joint collaboration between TISS and the Maharashtra Police, working on issues of violence against women. Her main interests include gender, violence, sexuality, disability and rights. She is also actively involved in social movements and campaigns.

Arpita is the Programme Associate at the Resource Centre. Her work includes writing and editing In Plainspeak, moderating E-discussions, networking and programme management.

Janette Sunita

Janette Sunita is a Post Graduate in Business Administration specialising in Marketing and Finance. She has substantial experience working with the UN, Corporate and Social Development sectors. She is Manager Administration and Finance for TARSHI and for the Resource Centre.

Radhika Chandiramani
Executive Director

Radhika Chandiramani trained as a clinical psychologist at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS). She founded TARSHI in 1996. Her main areas of interest are sexuality and rights. She is a recipient of the MacArthur Fellowship for Leadership Development and the Soros Reproductive Health and Rights Fellowship. She has co-edited Sexuality, Gender and Rights: Exploring Theory and Practice in South and Southeast Asia (Sage, 2005).

Radhika is the Executive Director of TARSHI, the South and Southeast Asia Resource Centre on Sexuality, and the co-Director of The Sexuality and Rights Institute in India.

Sanjay Philips Henderson

Sanjay Philips acquired his Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) from Delhi University. Sanjay is the Accountant for TARSHI and the Resource Centre. Prior to this he has worked with Helpage India (2000-07) in the accounts and finance department.

Sumit Baudh
Senior Program Associate

Sumit Baudh obtained an integrated degree as Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (BA LLB) with Honours from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, in 1998. He began his career in the business corporate sector with Hindustan Unilever Limited (1998-2001). In 2001, Sumit was awarded the British Chevening Scholarship. He obtained his Master of Laws (LLM) from the London School of Economics in 2002 and qualified as Solicitor (non-practicing), England and Wales in 2004. Sumit’s areas of interest include human rights, sexuality, conflict, new religious movements, and caste. He has worked with the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (2003-04) and the AMAN Trust (2004–06), both NGOs based in India. He is also actively involved with social movements and campaigns, particularly the Voices Against 377.

Sumit is the Senior Programme Associate at the Resource Centre. His work includes research, writing, training, networking, programme management and evaluation.

Sushma Luthra
Operations Manager

Sushma Luthra holds a diploma in Hotel Management and Food Technology from Sophia Polytechnic, Mumbai. She began her career in the hospitality sector with The Taj Mansingh Hotel, Delhi (1986-1995). She then worked as a freelance Conference Coordinator organising and coordinating conferences, retreats and workshops for NGOs, Corporate and Multi National Corporate clients.

Sushma is the Networking and Operations Manager at the Resource Centre. She networks with other organisations as well as plans, coordinates and handles logistical matters.
